Debnath, P.Ag. is a Research Scientist at the St. John’s Research and Development Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) in Newfoundland and Labrador and an Adjunct Professor of Biology at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has authored and co-authored around 120 publications in peer-reviewed journals including review papers and book chapters. He has been a keynote speaker and an invited speaker at a number of international and national conferences and meetings, was the President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Institute of Agrologists (P.Ag.) and the Canadian Society for Horticultural Science; the Editor-in-Chief of the journal: Scientia Horticulturae, and a Special Issue Editor of Agronomy (MDPI). He was the Country Representative for Canada and the Council Member of the International Society for Horticultural Science. His research concerns biotechnology along with conventional method-based value-added small fruit and medicinal plant production, propagation and genetic enhancement. Much of his current work focuses on wild germplasm, antioxidant activity, biodiversity and micropropagation for berry crop improvement using in vitro and molecular techniques combined with conventional methods.

She joined the graduate program in the Department of Biological sciences, Yarmouk University and received her Master of Science degree in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular biology in 2001. After completion of her MS, she worked as research and teaching assistant for two years in the Department of Biological Sciences, Yarmouk University, Jordan. On May, 2004 she joined the Department of Biological Sciences, Auburn University, Alabama, USA to pursue her PhD degree in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology working on the plant abiotic stress interaction and the role of GABA shunt pathway in plant stress tolerance. She obtained her PhD Degree in August, 2008 from Auburn University, Alabama, USA. Since September 2008, Nisreen AL-Quraan has been working as a professor in plant biochemistry and molecular biology at Jordan University of Science and Technology, JORDAN. Her research is focusing on investigating the pathways that enable plants to adapt and tolerate harsh biotic and Abiotic stress conditions. I have been working as a lecturer at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2011; and have been working on plant ecology of the desert and forest in Saudi Arabia. I did my BSc (Class Hons) in Botany and followed by MSc (Class Hons) in Plant Ecology with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My thesis for my MSc was "The effect of Autotoxicity and Intraspecific competition on the plantation and seedling growth in Ziziphus nummularia". Ziziphus nummularia is an important species that has ecological value, but regeneration of the species is very low despite its high production of seeds. PNU funded research project working with Department of Biology to evaluate the effects of some factors such as allelopathy and competition on seedlings growth. I have got a scholarship from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Bureau (SACB) and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU). In 2015, I moved to Department of Biosciences, Swansea University, UK to be postgraduate researcher and pursue a PhD in plant ecology. Supervised PhD project by Dr James Bull and Prof Luca Borger in the Department of Biosciences, Swansea University, UK. This project will aim to be looking at spatial structure in population genetics in UK seagrass, Zostera marina to better understand the link between demography, ecological dynamics and population genetics. I am interested in many research areas such as: Population Genetics structure, Plant Ecology, Environment variable, Competition and Allelopathy in plant community. I have contributed and participated in several businesses as a volunteer.
